Wilmington's Got Talent
In a push to combat area crime, Wilmington Central Rotary is tapping
into one of the community's most prominent strengths, talent. The
event will take place Friday, November 18th 2011 at 7:00 pm at Thalian Hall.
Wilmington's Got Talent will shine the spotlight on area singers, dancers, musicians,
magicians, and all acts in between.
The top act, to be determined by a panel of judges, will receive an artist feature
in a local publication and additional prizes. All proceeds will go to purchasing a
drug dog for the New Hanover County Sheriff's Department canine unit.
"There are some wonderfully-skilled people and undiscovered entertainers in the city"
said Jeanette Woodruff, Rotary Central Event Chair. "This section of southeastern
North Carolina in particular really sparkles with gifted individuals from across
the talent spectrum. We're very lucky to harness all of the good to overcome some
of the negative."
